Dwiatmo Kartiko lahir di Blora pada 30 Mei 1963. Masa kecil hingga menyelesaikan SMA dijalani di kota kecil di Jawa Tengah tersebut. Pada tahun 1986, menyelesaikan pendidikan S-1 Geografi di Univ. Gadjah Mada Yogyakarta. Setelah lulus, sempat mengajar di Univ. Kristen Satya Wacana, Salatiga, selama 3 (tiga) semester, hingga pertengahan tahun 1988. Setelah itu, kegiatan sehari-harinya dihabiskan dengan menggeluti dunia LSM yang berfokus pada pengembangan sumberdaya manusia (SDM) dan lingkungan, baik di LSM lokal maupun LSM Internasional, mulai dari UPKM/CD RS Bethesda Yogyakarta, WALHI Yogyakarta, PELKESI dan diteruskan masuk menjadi staf PLAN Internasional Indonesia. Mulai tahun 2000, dunia usaha menjadi impian hidupnya, sambil masih terus terlibat di dalam dunia pemberdayaan SDM. Itulah sebabnya, sejak tahun 2006 pengembangan SDM menjadi fokus aktivitas sehari-harinya, dengan menjadi fasilitator pemberdayaan SDM secara individual dan kelompok, baik itu organisasi atau perusahaan.
